We took advantage of last weekend's weather and decided to take the trailer and bikes out overnight. The weather lady said it was the last weekend that they could promise that there would not be snow. So, we loaded up and headed for the Alpine loop. When we got there, everyone else in the Wasatch Valley had the same idea, so we headed back outta the canyon and hit 5 Mile Pass, which is BLM land as far as the eye can see FULL of trails and camping spots.

The Best Pumpkin Patch Ever

Seeing as there is a Pumpkin Patch on every corner, the boys have been hounding us since they started to appear at the first of the month. Let me rephrase that to be truthful, Levi, Landon and I have been hounding Shane since they started popping up. I will say that since Halloween is 2 weeks away, it makes a little more sense to visit then it did 2 weeks ago! Fall is my favorite time of the year and I love Halloween.

On Thursday night, on our way home as we passed one of the many patches, I decided to place one of my bi-weekly calls to my husband to see if he would be home in time to head on down to pick our pumpkins. He did not answer, so I left a message under hushed tones in the hope that Levi "elephant ears" Mills would not over hear and start begging. We got home and started our nightly routine when Dad pulled into the driveway...always the best part of the night!

"Daddy's Home, Daddy's Home!" the boys yelled as they ran out the front door...with me trailing after them..."Who wants to goto the Pumpkin Patch?!" Shane wanted to know - he always likes to be the hero...I am not sure who was more excited - me or the boys! So we loaded up and on our way we went...past the 3 pumpkin patches that we drive by each day...towards the jobsite...

And there out in the middle of nowhere - well in a field just "outside" of town - was a Pumpkin Patch - of our very own...not a soul in sight!

Our job had bought the property, we are going to put a Park and Ride there and the farmer who had owned it was going to till under the pumpkins. He was asked not to and the employees where given the opportunity to go and pick, not only pumpkins, but peppers and tomatoes! We had a hay day...And Shane...he was the King as always...

Let's try this AGAIN...

Thanks to My Sister-In-Law Mary, I have renewed my interest in blogging...now that I can add a cute background I may be able to keep this thing up! I am going to try - what a great way to keep in touch! So we'll see if I can keep on track...maybe with a little proding!

Fall Already?

I really cannot believe that fall is half over ~ Thanksgiving is next week and that Christmas is just around the corner! I suppose that when you live in Land of the Sun and the seasons don't change that this happens easily! The girls' coats are getting a little thicker and Henry is hibernating (yes tarantulas hibernate) so winter is coming! I am excited for Christmas this year, I have some great ideas on how to decorate the house...But am even more excited that next year we could very well have a "White Christmas" awwww - FINALLY all this waiting may pay off! UTAH here we come!!!
The Boys are all growing like weeds, every time I blink my eyes it is something new! Lucas and Logan finished up football, Lucas is going to play basketball which I think is his sport as he can keep up with all his uncles. Logan is riding his skateboard and being 12 going on 18 he is about 4 inches taller than I am, but knows I am still meaner. Levi loves the 1st grade and as he informed me the other day "all the kids say I'm popular" I don't need a girl for the drama! :) Shane and I bought him a little motorcycle and he is a natural - he LOVES it! And then there is Landon. I could type about him all day...He is so much fun and to see things through his eyes is amazing I had forgotten how much fun (and work) little ones are. He is "working" on potty training ~ I say that very loosely and his favorite thing right now is to tell the girls "OUTSIDE PUPPIES" and to watch them run out the back door! FUN!! Shane is plugging along at work and has found a little time for fishing between NASCAR and FOOTBALL! I...well other than being a Mom and working a "full" time job outside of the home, my friend Sara and I have been selling Scentsy candles and are "raking" it in...we love them and apparently so does everyone else that we've encountered! In a little over 3 months we've sold about $3500 in product with little to NO effort...not too shabby? Of course we only make 25% of that, but given some of our other adventures we are just happy to be MAKING some money! :) We are doing only one craft fair this year...the first weekend on December...just too busy! Well I needed to update this blog and will try to be better about it...we'll see about that :)
