Seeing as there is a Pumpkin Patch on every corner, the boys have been hounding us since they started to appear at the first of the month. Let me rephrase that to be truthful, Levi, Landon and I have been hounding Shane since they started popping up. I will say that since Halloween is 2 weeks away, it makes a little more sense to visit then it did 2 weeks ago! Fall is my favorite time of the year and I love Halloween.
On Thursday night, on our way home as we passed one of the many patches, I decided to place one of my bi-weekly calls to my husband to see if he would be home in time to head on down to pick our pumpkins. He did not answer, so I left a message under hushed tones in the hope that Levi "elephant ears" Mills would not over hear and start begging. We got home and started our nightly routine when Dad pulled into the driveway...always the best part of the night!
"Daddy's Home, Daddy's Home!" the boys yelled as they ran out the front door...with me trailing after them..."Who wants to goto the Pumpkin Patch?!" Shane wanted to know - he always likes to be the hero...I am not sure who was more excited - me or the boys! So we loaded up and on our way we went...past the 3 pumpkin patches that we drive by each day...towards the jobsite...
And there out in the middle of nowhere - well in a field just "outside" of town - was a Pumpkin Patch - of our very own...not a soul in sight!
Our job had bought the property, we are going to put a Park and Ride there and the farmer who had owned it was going to till under the pumpkins. He was asked not to and the employees where given the opportunity to go and pick, not only pumpkins, but peppers and tomatoes! We had a hay day...And Shane...he was the King as always...

What great looking pumpkins! Tyler always likes to be the hero too! Isn't that what a dad is for though?
